Only 21 more campaigning days til the election. Alll mail-in voters should have their ballots. I got mine yesterday. Going forward most of my time and effort will be focused on walking precincts. The SNAIL & Lakewood Village neighborhood candidate forum was Oct 12th. Yesterday, Oct 18th, was Sunnyvale Rotary Luncheon candidate forum. There are no other public forums or debates planned, although there will plenty of public events.
Today Oct 19th is the groundbreaking for renovations to the Downtown project. Great to see the downtown moving toward completion again.
Thursday, Oct 20th, I'll be casing my vote as a Sunnyvale Bicycle and Pedestrian Commissioner on our commission's recommendation to city council about the Land Use and Transportation Element (LUTE) of Sunnyvale's General plan. This is an important document because it basically set the job and housing growth limits in Sunnyvale for the next 20 years.
If you haven't been able to make any of the prior meetings about Sunnyvale's LUTE (land use and transportation element), city staff is presenting the LUTE to the Bicycle and Pedestrian advisory commission Thursday Oct 20th @ 6:30 PM @ the west conference room, city hall, 456 W. Olive ave. BPAC commissioners will be voting on the BPAC's recommendation wrt to the LUTE, which will be forwarded to city council. Please come and make a pitch for changes you recommend to the LUTE.
